Many years ago in a small town nestled among rolling hills, there lived a gentle soul named Emily. She had always been known for her warm heart and compassionate nature, but recently, her life had been overshadowed by a deep sense of grief. Emily had lost her beloved grandmother, her confidante and mentor, her grandmother raised her after her mother abandoned her as an infant, so to Emily her grandmother was her mother and the pain of her absence naturally weighed heavily upon her.

Every day, Emily would visit her grandmother's grave, seeking solace and a connection. As she knelt beside the tombstone, tears streaming down her face, she whispered her wishes for guidance and comfort into the wind. Little did she know that her heartfelt pleas had been heard by not only her grandmother, but another celestial being, an angel named Gabriel.

Gabriel, was Emily's guardian angel and like all guardian angels is known for his empathy and tenderness, he felt compelled to aid Emily in her time of need. He descended from the heavens, his wings shimmering with radiant light, and took on the appearance of a humble man. Disguised as a gentle stranger, he approached Emily as she sat alone at the graveside of her grandmother.

"Excuse me, young lady," Gabriel said softly, his voice filled with kindness. "I couldn't help but notice your sorrow. May I sit beside you?"

Emily, startled by the stranger's approach, glanced up through her teary eyes. Something about his presence felt comforting, so she nodded, wordlessly granting him permission to join her. They sat silently for a while, watching the sunset paint the sky with hues of gold and orange.

Finally, Gabriel broke the silence. "You carry a heavy burden, my child. It is never easy to lose someone we hold dear. May I ask about the person you have lost?"

Emily took a deep breath, her voice trembling with emotion. She spoke of her grandmother, her voice filled with love and longing. She shared stories of their adventures, the wisdom her grandmother imparted, and the void she felt now that she was gone.

Gabriel listened intently, soaking up her words, although he already knew this his intention was to help her to open up and release the bottled up pain. His eyes filled with compassion. "Your grandmother sounds like an extraordinary person," he said. "The love between you two is evident, it shines brightly even in your grief."

As the days turned into weeks, Gabriel continued to visit Emily, offering her a listening ear, a comforting presence, and words of wisdom. He encouraged her to celebrate her grandmother's life rather than focusing on the pain of her loss. Together, they reminisced about the joyous moments they had shared, the lessons learned, and the legacy her grandmother had left behind.

Gabriel also gently reminded Emily that her grandmother's spirit would always be with her. You see he saw her grandmother as she stood humble by her granddaughter, she expressed to Gabriel how much she loved her granddaughter and that seeing her hurting so much was not what she envisioned for her to be spending her time doing. Gabriel encouraged Emily to seek solace in nature, reminding her that her grandmother's love could be found in the gentle caress of the wind, the gentle drops of rain that fall upon her cheek, the delicate petals of a flower, and the warmth of the sun's rays.

This pleased the grandmother who could feel her granddaughter was beginning to heal.

With each passing day, Emily's heart grew lighter. Gabriel's presence had become a soothing balm for her wounded soul. He guided her toward healing, teaching her to find strength within herself and to cherish the beautiful memories she had with her grandmother.

One bright morning, as Emily stood by her grandmother's grave, her grandmother brushed her hand upon Emily's face and as she did, Emily reached up as her grandmothers touch felt like a gentle breeze brush against her cheek. She closed her eyes, absorbing the sensation, and a sense of peace washed over her. When she opened her eyes, the stranger who had comforted her so many times was nowhere to be found but there was her grandmother, her beautiful living soul smiling at her and reminding her to always be herself, to be happy with the world around her and always remember that she is loved and here to make a difference. Emily asked'what difference am I to make?'

Her grandmother replied 'that, my dear, is what you have to discover for yourself, in the meantime be proud of who you are. Never want for more than you have but bless everything and everyone who is kind towards you. Never carry pain from a relationship that doesn't exist, and never hold a grudge or you carry that person's Karma. You have so much to learn just from 24hrs, you never stop learning no matter how old you become. And overall be happy because I will always be watching over you, you see we never truly leave. My body is not mine anymore but the earths, my soul is always mine as is your soul is always yours. Treat it well it has an eternity of happiness and love to embrace.'

Just then Emily heard the sound of birds high in the sky, her grandmother said 'listen to how happy they are, they live off the land they have to forage for food and water and shelter yet, they sing. Pay attention to nature and what it has to teach you about who you are, don't become materialistic, or you won't feel the true happiness that life has to offer you.'

As Emily walked away from the cemetery, her heart felt lighter than it had in months. Over time the memories of her grandmother stayed with her, and she passed them on to her children and grandchildren.

On the day Emily passed away her grandmother was there to take her home, she described to her children at her bedside how she could see her grandmother, and how happy she was, Emily suddenly realised how important it was remind them that her passing was not something they should be sad about but rather something that she asked them to celebrate. It was at that moment, she understood what difference she had made and that was teaching her children about how the soul never dies, and how each one of us were here to make the most profound difference to the world through our actions and words. And more importantly, how each one of us have Guides and Angels who are there ever working behind the scenes in our lives. And for that her children turned out to be more empathetic and compassionate human beings.

Everyone has had or will have Angels touch their lives. It could be following a loss of someone beit human or animal. And sometimes angels will speak through people to us, their words are always filled with kindness and compassion. sometimes they will enter our lives as animals sometimes as a stray animal. Often arriving at a time where we need them or are about to.

Sometimes they appear as strangers just to help us, it could be something as simple as changing a tire or helping spare a dollar to pay for groceries. Sometimes they will work through us, for others, so if you have the urge to do something kind, it might just be an angel nudging you. It doesn't hurt to listen to them, because you never know when they're coming to work through someone for you.

I hope Emily's story touched you, our loved ones are always listening to you when you speak to them. And love never dies. Just remember, they are only a whisper away.
