Appreciate the moments you might never get back. Don’t go to sleep angry because you might not wake up to realise it was trivial. What’s more, if you go to sleep angry the stress on your heart might be too much and you void someone else in righting a wrong.
Too many of us have been there, myself included. But if the lesson I learned can prevent one person going through the same thing, then I will understand that it wasn’t for nothing.
Sometimes, we are a sacrifice for the good of others. Sometimes when we experience something tragic in our lives, our circumstances open the eyes of others to help them see what really matters, without lessons that might not have been possible for us or others to see without someone else enduring it first.
Sad but true.
Regardless of what happened between you and another person, make peace with yourself first then make peace with them. Even if it’s just writing a letter to them whether they are in this world or not. Don’t stew over things, don’t let a bad situation eat away at your chances of being happy for whatever hours are left in the day.
Stop waiting for someone else to make the first step in apologising, you can often be waiting a lifetime. What a waste if that stubbornness wins. Because that is opportunities missed to heal wounds, mistakes, conflicts, misunderstandings and receiving closure.
The Devil is real
Often it's the Devil that wants nothing more than to destroy you, don't let him get between you and healing. Many think the Devil is a myth, let me tell you that he is not, he's more real than I would like to believe. He wants nothing more than to take as many people with him as possible and he loves it when people turn on each other. After all he walks the earth and he is powerful, but there is one thing more powerful than him and I'm not just referring to God but LOVE. If you turn your back on God, how can you expect him to save you from the consequences of the Devil? The one thing that the world has chosen to ignore is that there is a spiritual war going on.
Just remember that the Devil will give you whatever you want, but once he has you he will slam shut the door on you like a mouse being lured into a trap. Just be careful as that anger you hold onto may just be him in disguise.
Life here is too short to be fighting over something said or done. Because in the end it will be the little time we have left, we end up truly fighting for and will often wish we had more time left to make peace.
Remember that we enter the world to learn and grow, not to resist and stunt our spiritual growth over petty squabbles.
