𝓗𝓪𝓹𝓹𝔂 𝓝𝓮𝔀 𝓨𝓮𝓪𝓻!

What is your NY resolution that you are definitely sticking to or is it a pipe dream?

It’s easy to say you’re going to do this or that then within a few weeks you forget about it.

The first thing you need to ask yourself is

“Am l serious about my NY resolution?”

If your heart really isn’t into it, and you know you won’t stick to it then make a resolution you know you will stick to.

Sometimes we just need to set small hurdles to jump instead of creating impossible walls.

Think of a rock climber, they train first, they just don’t start climbing a mountain without first training to do it, you must set baby steps.

Think of it as warming up, little by little you begin to build up confidence to move on to a new goal, but keep the goals achievable so you don’t quit and fall back into bad habits.

If it’s dieting, give up one thing you really want or get weak for. It could be chocolate or ordering a Big Mac. Do that for a couple of months then once you feel more confident give up something else for the next 2 months and so on. This way if it’s sweets you gradually wean yourself off them.

So the first two months you quit one thing, the next two months you quit two things and so on.

You can try setting an alarm to eat something healthy, that alarm will be like a personal dietitian reminding you to have a yummy salad. (But if you have a salad do away with cheese or dressing on it because that’s where all the calories hide).

Another thing you can do is write a list down one side of a page of all the things you like that you know are not good for you.

On the opposite side opposite each word on the left write something disgusting like:

Chocolate | Maggots

Cake | Dog poo

Thick shakes | Vomit

Butter | Urine

Cigarettes. | Body odour

Lollies. | Phlegm

You can even repeat the left column words against all the things you crave on the left, then every day read the list or place it where you will see it like the fridge door. If you stick to it, eventually your mind will associate the smell or visual of the craving to Dog poo or Vomit etc.

With a desire to have more money, you can give up something you find waste money on then the next two moment you’ll give up something else along with the first thing you give up for two months and so forth.

Be excited about making healthy choices, but as long as you do it gradually by the end of the year you’ll have accomplished your resolution.

Just remember Rome wasn’t built in a day.

What tiny hurdle are you ready for ?
